I wanted to send a note to a larger audience about a few more Netcasts that
have been scheduled.

This is not so much a new service, but more of a test-in-progress for what
is possible.

Believing our R&E community has a wealth of content that may be of benefit
to others in/beyond our community, Netcasting aims to reach remote/wider
audiences as well as promote the use of multicast transport.

The current (consented) public events that are on the schedule are specific
in topic but larger lectures/media events could be handled similarly.

In the long run, should this prove worthwhile, we would look for local
resources to handle coordination/AV/codec needs and we would handle the
transport as well as aim to provide a collective interface for viewing such
events.

A schedule of sessions and further info can be found at Networkmaine-IPTV
<http://www.networkmaine.net/iptv/> (multicast connectivity required).

Should you have interest in viewing or enabling such an event please contact
us <http://www.networkmaine.net/contact/> .
