*What is happening?*
Starting at 6AM on Sunday August 23rd.  We will apply updates to and
restart nameo.its.maine.edu.   We will also take this opportunity to
defragment the LDAP database.

Most services should be unaffected since we run redundant LDAP servers.

*How long will it take?*
We expect this work to take less than 15 minutes.

*Why is this work necessary?*
For security and support reasons we need to keep our systems running on
recent well supported operating systems.  From time to time
the LDAP database becomes fragmented and must be rebuilt to maintain
performance.

What happens if the work is not successful?

We will back out to the previous configuration on this machine.
