There was a brief network outage this morning that impacted much of the
University network causing inability to reach the Internet for several
minutes.  The cause appears to be related to a software problem with
optical equipment in Orono.  Services have been restored, and work to
further assess and address the primary cause is under way.  More
information will be provided as it becomes available.
