I had to call Brodart to figure out that barcodes and spine labels for the
Brownstone books were tucked away inside the books, so thought I would
share the secret. Below are the instructions for downloading the records.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING MARC RECORDS

Following a few easy steps will enable you to retrieve your library's marc
records from our FTP site. Below are a few general instructions to help
you connect and download your files.

Login methods:

You may connect to our FTP site using a variety of methods. Below are two
methods to help you get started.

Method 1 - Via your favorite FTP software connect to Brodart's FTP server
at the FTP Host Address using the Username and Password listed below.

Method 2 - Via your Internet browser connect to Brodart's FTP site by
entering an internet address (url) following this syntax
[log in to unmask]" target="_blank">ftp://username:[log in to unmask]. When prompted enter your
password as it is listed below.

File naming on our FTP site:

Files are named using a 15 character file name beginning with M,
indicating this is a MARC file, followed by 4 digit year, 2 digit month, 2
digit day, ending with a 6 digit sequence number. The file name extension
will always be FIL.

Example: M20090312021729.FIL would indicate the file was created on March
12, 2009 and is sequence number 021729.
