Hello. I need help. If you have indoor security cameras- what kind do you
have? How many do you have? I'm in a small library- 2 rooms upstairs and 2
rooms downstairs. The only door open to the public is the upstairs one
which is where my desk is. The downstairs has a door to the outside but it
stays locked to the public. I'm the only librarian in the building as my
assistant's position was cut as of this past July.

Beginning of December I came in one day to discover that there had been an
intruder in the building during the night. He had been there earlier to
charge a cell phone, and when he went down to use the bathroom I thought he
had left. I guess he had hidden until my shift was done. He had drank a
lot of little sodas left over from an open house that had been held that
same week, and eaten some leftover cookies. He wasn't malicious so no
damage was done. He apparently wasn't looking for money because I did have
petty cash there that was untouched. I have 3 bean bag chairs that were put
into a 'safe place' so the kids have a harder time using them because of
Covid, and they were next to the furnace that is between the library and a
small office that the town rents out on the other side of the furnace. I
went to put the bean bags back after I had already reported it to my town
manager and discovered he had moved them. and was still there. He left
immediately, and due to the fact that he was fairly young, about my size,
and looked quite fit I didn't try to stop him. (Taking care of myself.) Of
course I reported this also to the town manager. We had decided not to say
much in an official report because we both were afraid of 'copy cat' crimes.

Now- I'm not comfortable being in other parts of the building, so I'm
getting further and further behind on putting things away in the Children's
area downstairs. I talked to the town manager and she and I agreed I can
get security cameras. I'm also thinking I'll get a 'buzzer' for every time
the door opens. That I have a resource for, but I know nothing about
security cameras. Who has a good suggestion for me? (I don't have Alexa,
and so many of them 'pair' with Alexa. I just use the Dell Computer on my
