Library Clerk
(Part-time morning position)

RESPONSIBLITIES:   Performs routine library clerical duties such as staffing the circulation desk, library billing, library materials processing, and shelving books.  Operates library computers, applications and equipment.  Performs minor maintenance and troubleshooting on computer and equipment.  Provides assistance with database searches and refers research questions to librarians. Assists patrons with library needs. Assist with library invoices and budget tracking.

REQUIREMENTS:  Associates degree and one year of work experience preferred.  Experience with data entry and information retrieval, including electronic media.  Ability to help patrons to use computers and multimedia equipment. Proficiency in computerized data base management, word processing, and spreadsheets.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in dealing with a variety of internal and external customers, including library patrons of all ages; Physical endurance in order to bend, climb and lean down throughout the day with shelving books and other materials.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

HOURS:  Regular, part-time (25 hrs/week), calendar-year position.  Primarily mornings, 7:45 a.m. -12:45 p.m.; works occasional evenings or weekends and some holidays as needed.

PAY/BENEFITS:  Hourly pay and some pro-rated benefits available.
