Good day! This TED Talk from twitch co-founder Emmett Shear looks at streaming entertainment from the perspective of community engagement. Social isolation has been cited as a problem in many of our rural communities. The strong internet connection and computer availability provided by your library might be doing more to address that than you realized.

This run time for this talk is just under 15 minutes.

If you've wondered what streaming platforms are or do, what Twitch is, and what it suggests for the future of entertainment and community engagement, this video touches on all those things. It's also worth noting that many streamers are also in fact generating an income from this - something to think about when looking at how your library's tech services align with economic opportunity for the people you serve.

If anyone is looking at or developing entertainment or economic programming around this, or is even thinking about it, I would really love to know!
