McArthur Library, located in Biddeford, Maine, is currently accepting
applications for a Technology Coordinator/Librarian (full-time exempt
position).

Biddeford is located just 20 minutes south of Portland and is now the
youngest city in Maine. Portland Press Herald recently wrote "A renaissance
here has drawn a flood of fresh faces and businesses, making the
municipality's median age plunge."  Recent downtown development during
COVID has created a surge of new faces in the library! New businesses
continue to open and thrive, and residential development of nearby mills
has contributed to a vibrant downtown. Come join our team during an

This position is a rare full-time vacancy (created by a retirement and an
internal hire) and opportunity to join an incredibly dynamic team that
knows how to have fun. Our COVID programming and innovation has been
recognized at a national level.



Primary responsibilities of this role are:


   - Monitor and maintain library system infrastructure, network, hardware,
   and our website.
   - Purchase technological solutions, create images and install equipment.
   - Manage public tech environment including all servers, switches,
   workstations, kiosks and publicly loaned devices. This will include
   after-hours updates to the environment as needed.
   - Contribute as member of Adult Services team by providing assistance at
   the reference desk to patrons, including reader’s advisory, information
   requests (in-person and online), and technological assistance (including
   with public computers, as well as fax/copy/scanning);



The ideal candidate should be flexible and energetic with a positive
attitude, welcoming demeanor, and extensive experience with technology as
above (hardware, software, web-based, devices, and digital content). This
position requires someone to be able to walk in and be hands-on
immediately. Please have a fantastic sense of humor. Previous library
experience and MLS are both preferred.



The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) with at least one evening
weekly and at least one in every 3-4 Saturdays.  The benefits at McArthur

Salary range starts at $45,000 and is negotiable, depending on experience.
