Hi Joanna,
I update the book carousel for Lewiston Public Library. You can see if you check out home page and scroll about half way down: lplonline.org
Our cataloging librarian sends out a list of titles with ISBNs for anything new added to the collection, usually every week. The book carousel uses ISBNs to show the covers, so I copy and paste ISBNs from that list that I think are interesting. I do this manually.
I don't know about the technical side of things, I'm just in charge of updating the covers weekly, so I can confidently say that it's not an automatic process.

Subject: [MELIBS-L] New Books Carousel Widgets
Hi people,
This question is for libraries who have a book carousel on their website
(example: https://jake.paris/wordpress-plugins/ -- scroll down) or some other means of a routinely updated new book display on their website.
With what do you do it (plugin, goodreads, something else)?!
How do you do it?! I.e., once you've chosen your display format, what is your procedure for updating it. Do you scan books in manually, does it magically connect to Sierra acquisitions, do you update it monthly? Weekly, etc?
Love to hear what folks are doing!
Cheers, Happy New Year.
