Hi All, The New England Region of the NNLM (Network of the National Library of Medicine) is once again offering grants for projects to improve health literacy and community health programming. Applications are due by December 15 for these two grants open to public libraries:
*    Health Outreach<https://www.nnlm.gov/funding/rfa/health-information-outreach-award-region-7>: up to $20,000,
*    Technology Improvement<https://www.nnlm.gov/funding/rfa/technology-improvement-award-region-7>: up to $10,000

Funding Period: May 1, 2023 -April 30, 2024

Proposals Deadline: December 15, 2022

Some examples of projects appropriate for these grants are:

  * Telehealth services in libraries or lending devices for patrons to access telehealth from home
  * Replacing computer equipment to provide better access to health information
  * Community health programming (walking clubs for seniors, advance care planning series, child development & parenting classes, teen health discussion groups, etc.)
  * Digital literacy training, teaching people how to search for health info in Medlineplus
  * Media literacy training so people understand how to recognize health misinformation and where to look for quality info

For more details, go to https://www.nnlm.gov/funding/rfa?field_award_category_value=All&field_rfa_status_value=All&field_funding_source_target_id%5B61%5D=61 .

I'm happy to brainstorm ideas with you for a grant application. The people at NNLM are very good to work with and want to help you as well. They have developed a toolkit to help applicants write a strong grant proposal. Check it out at https://www.nnlm.gov/guides/nnlm-proposal-writing-toolkit .
