If you are within striking distance of Portland on August 21st (or can
arrange to be) please put this on your calendar. The impression (and show
of interest) we make on Maine's next governor is terribly important. Many
thanks!

Subject: UPDATE: Gathering With Candidates 21 Aug

Friends of Culture:

On behalf of the Cultural Affairs Council, I am writing to update you on
their "meet the candidates reception", which will take place on Wednesday
21 August at the Maine Historical Society, 485 Congress Street in Portland,
from 4:30-6:30 PM. Please note that the times have changed slightly from
those in my earlier message-- the reception now begins at 4:30 and ends at
6:30. This will be a chance for informal conversation on Maine's cultural
policy, to hear about the evaluation of the New Century Program, and meet
what we expect will be several of the gubernatorial candidates.

We hope that a large number of people will be present to show that the
cultural community is a large and vibrant coalition! Please join us and
feel free to forward this message to your colleagues and boards.
