Several people have called with questions about 486 and 472 deadlines. The
posting on the SLD website can help you sort out those confusions.

The short answer is that there are really two deadlines come up.

Folks who had funding commitments for Year4 (2001 [Pink]) must have their
472 (BEARs) filed by the 28th of October.  If you are in that group remember
you must get your 472 faxed to the vendor before sending it to SLD.  If you
need an extension you can ask for one by folloing the directions provided on
the page I have cited above.

The second deadline is for Year 2002 (Year 5 [Blue]) funding commitments
received on or before July1 of 2002.  If the service start for those funding
commitments was July 1, 2002 applicants must file their 486 forms by October
29th.  Failure to get this done may result in an adjustment of the funding
commitment for non-complying applicants.

Don't forget there will an E-Rate work session at Norway Public Library
Monday 0ct. 28th from 2-4pm and in Biddeford at the Regional Center for
Technology on Tuesday Oct. 29th from 1-4pm.
