Hello All, We are opening up our Region 1 Meeting in Brunswick on September 20 to library staff from anywhere in the state. The main topics of the day will be family engagement and programming for seniors. See details and the agenda when you register at
http://maine.evanced.info/signup/EventDetails?EventId=5144&backTo=Calendar&startDate=2019/09/01 .
In the morning, our presenter from the Harvard Family Research Project (now the Global Family Research Project) https://globalfrp.org/Archive will facilitate small group discussions and co-learning on family literacy outreach and programming for families in libraries.
After lunch, we'll discuss and share ideas for senior citizens programming. There will also be time for attendees to bring up news and issues from their libraries.
The cost is $15 to help with lunch and refreshments. If you need financial assistance, you may apply for a scholarship at https://www.maine.gov/msl/libs/ce/stipends.htm . Registration closes Sept. 12.
Hope your library will send more than one staffer, especially those involved in program development for any age. Deb
