Blitz Survey
[Please respond to [log in to unmask] by noon Monday, Feb
25.]

I'm working on a grant proposal that seeks to assist up to 100 Maine
public libraries in providing walk-in wireless online connections to:

a. Students involved in the Maine Learning Technology Initiative.
b. Public access and staff computers anywhere in your library.
c. Anyone else in your community with a properly configured laptop.

Unfortunately, time is VERY short. It would be extremely helpful if
as many Maine public librarians as possible respond to the survey by
noon Monday, Feb 25. A few moments answering as many of the
questions below as possible will provide much help in drafting the
grant proposal.

this year to bring walk-in wireless connectivity to your library, if

YES ___ NO ___

3. What kind of network connection do you have currently:

YES ___ NO ___

5. Have you had requests for walk-in connections to the Internet from

6. Do you anticipate walk-in connectivity as a regular service in the
future?

YES ___ NO ___

7. The proposal might ask for a network access point and a single
laptop computer with wireless card. Or, it could ask for the access
point and multiple (5-10) wireless cards suitable for use in both old
and new computers. Which would you prefer?

One Configured Laptop ______

Multiple Interface Cards ______

8. Any additional comments, concerns or suggestions relating to
public libraries as walk-in wireless connection points to online
