Maine State Museum seeks library partners for virtual “Listening Tour” events

The Maine State Museum is currently running a “Listening Tour,”<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLSfTIxceKAttkazgp-MKyrSkIQ0IIOXc0Fo-TwrLV1KKKvm51w%2Fviewform%3Fusp%3Dsf_link&data=04%7C01%7CJanet.McKenney%40maine.gov%7Ce64f732b8b2946781fde08d9d461fe17%7C413fa8ab207d4b629bcdea1a8f2f864e%7C0%7C0%7C637774339605042406%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=xb0FzvpNUU%2F23uOTcXo%2BhzODIoSNqYtJSRvw9aB31JE%3D&reserved=0> a series of virtual conversations in different communities across the state. This program was developed in partnership with the Maine Humanities Council and a team of advisors.

Our goal is to gain insight on what people in Maine care about. These events will inform the museum’s future collections, programs, exhibits, and education work. In a 1.5 hour recorded zoom event, participants respond to five dialogue questions. So far, these conversations have been truly interesting and thoughtful!

The museum believes Maine’s libraries will be natural partners in this work, and we thank you for your support as we work to reach communities across the state!

The Maine State Museum will:

  *   Host the online event
  *   Provide a facilitator
  *   Share marketing materials
Partner libraries will be relied on to:

  * Spread the word among their network
  * Provide a staff representative to welcome people at the event

Events will run from February to March 2022, timing flexible. Pre-registration is required, and attendance will be capped at 15. We hope to make these events as accessible as possible – closed captioning is available, and we’d be interested in working with you to accommodate your audience’s needs.

If you are interested in bringing the Listening Tour to your library, please fill out this form<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLSfTIxceKAttkazgp-MKyrSkIQ0IIOXc0Fo-TwrLV1KKKvm51w%2Fviewform%3Fusp%3Dsf_link&data=04%7C01%7CJanet.McKenney%40maine.gov%7Ce64f732b8b2946781fde08d9d461fe17%7C413fa8ab207d4b629bcdea1a8f2f864e%7C0%7C0%7C637774339605198631%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=cN1XqcA4CF%2BMjzdKR0tJJWqAH%2BFHMDoY55mH0kMgcGw%3D&reserved=0>. Depending on volume of requests, we may not be able to work with every site.

Thank you, and we look forward to being in touch!
