COVID testing updates It's a snowy Friday and 2022 has brought us omicron and increasing positivity rate (18.4%) and high hospitalizations and deaths. Omicron is now thought to be the dominant variant in current infections. In response, the State just opened up a new COVID testing site in Augusta at the Armory on Western Avenue. The Armory is on Western Avenue and the location has been added at the COVID-19 Testing in Maine website<https://www.maine.gov/covid19/testing>. Augusta area libraries may download and post this informational flyer<https://www.maine.gov/msl/libs/services/documents/Armory_Covid.pdf> about the Armory site. I have added information about testing sites, vaccination sites, new isolation and quarantine recommendations, and home COVID testing to the Coronavirus webpage<https://www.maine.gov/msl/libs/services/Coronavirus.htm>.
