Good afternoon, all,

First, a disclaimer: this email is for the duly-appointed representatives of public libraries. If you do not represent a public library, you are still welcome to have a good afternoon. You should stop reading here, crumple this digital email and pretend you made a three-pointer into your digital circular file to the raucous cheers of your adulating digital stadium. Thanks in advance!

For the public library staff: it's that special time of the year once more, the annual Maine State Library / Networkmaine Zoom Pro account giveaway season! There are some striking parallels to other holidays where you (your library) can get Free Stuff (a Zoom Pro account). That's pretty much where the parallels end, but as an added benefit, we won't bombard you with advertising. Instead, we'll present you with a choice, and here is that choice:

  1. If your library is already receiving the benefit of this free, wonderful Zoom Pro account offer and would like to continue to do so, you should do nothing in response. If you successfully do nothing, then your library will continue to be subscribed to its Zoom account. Congratulations! Incidentally, "Do Nothing" is also the correct response for public libraries that neither receive nor want a free Zoom Pro account.

***OR***

  1. If your library does not receive a free Zoom Pro account through this offer and would like one or you have further questions, or your library does receive the account and wishes to discontinue the account, please reply to this email. In your reply, please indicate whether you want to learn more, to receive a free account if you don't already have one, or to discontinue the account that you currently have through this offer.

Those interested in enrolling (or unenrolling) should reply by the end of the day on May 26th.

This year, we will be asking libraries benefitting from this offer for one more thing: we simply need you to record each date of zoom use, number of attendees, general topic or program title, and whether anything came up of note during the zoom that you would like to share with us. That's it! We will ask for this every few months. This will help ensure our official reporting is done correctly, and we can continue to provide this popular service. You can record this in whatever format works best for you (we aren't picky!) or ask Jenna Davis for a Zoom info template by emailing [log in to unmask] Jenna is also quite happy to answer any questions you may have about the purpose and use of this data!

Have a happy Zoom Enrollment Season!
