Good Morning All, As the coronavirus (Covid-19) continues to spread around the world, it is a good idea for libraries to think about how they will respond if there is a community emergency, including library service response in a pandemic and provision of info and educational programs so community members can prepare. Here are a few resources to help:

  * Update from CDC on Feb. 24 https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6908e1.htm

  * Medlineplus info (and links to CDC, other resources) https://medlineplus.gov/coronavirusinfections.html

  * ALA Pandemic Preparedness (more flu-focused than coronavirus-specific but has general guidelines libraries should consider when preparing for a possible pandemic) http://www.ala.org/tools/atoz/pandemic-preparedness

  * Library Journal article "What Public Libraries Need to Know about the Coronavirus" https://www.libraryjournal.com/?detailStory=what-public-libraries-need-to-know-about-the-coronavirus

  * Maine CDC advisory for travelers and healthcare workers https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/infectious-disease/epi/airborne/coronavirus.shtml

  * To learn more about Maine's Public Health Emergency Preparedness system https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/public-health-systems/phep/

  * Maine's CDC Epidemiology Dept. is a good place to inquire about program speakers on infectious disease topics https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/infectious-disease/epi/index.shtml

  * CDC recommendations for communities and individuals to prepare for infectious disease pandemics https://www.cdc.gov/nonpharmaceutical-interventions/index.html

If any of you know of other helpful links, please share with me. Thanks, Deb
