All but two of the goals at Merrimack were scored on the other side of the
rink from where I sat, so I may not be the best qualified observer,

re. the quality of the goaltending last night. That said, I don't think
Frank Doyle can be blamed for last night's five goals against, which was the
highest total of the year for the Bears. At least two of the Merrimack goals
came after the defense gave up the puck in the Maine zone, and there were
several similar opportunities that did not result in goals, thanks to
excellent saves by Frankie. My question is whether the Merrimack goals were
the result of a breakdown in team defense, or of screw ups by individual
defensemen.
