HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
REJEAN STRINGER, SO F, MERRIMACK
Stringer (Gravelbourg, SASK) scored two goals and notched five assists in
the Warriors' weekend split with Mass Amherst.  Stringer scored a power
play goal and added three assists in Friday's 6-2 win and tallied another
PPG and two assists on Saturday for a seven-point weekend.  The sophomore
has scored 10 points in his last three games (three goals, seven assists)
and ranks third in Hockey East scoring with 3-8--11 in five games.
HONORABLE MENTION: Brian Callahan (F, Boston College): three goals and an
assist in 1-0-1 weekend vs Providence; Shawn Wansborough (F, Maine): three
goals and two assists on the weekend; Martin Fillion (G, Mass Lowell):
shutout win over RPI; Derek Bekar (F, New Hampshire): two goals, including
a game winner, and an assist in sweep of Maine.
 
HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JOHN SADOWSKI, F, NEW HAMPSHIRE
Sadowski (Glenview, IL) notched two goals in the Wildcats' weekend sweep of
Maine.  He scored on a penalty shot in Friday's 6-3 win, the goal which
proved to be the game winner.  He added an unassisted goal in Saturday's
6-5 win.
HONORABLE MENTION: Jeff Farkas (F, Boston College): goal and an assist in
1-0-1 weekend vs Providence; Cory Larose (F, Maine): goal and an assist on
the weekend; Chris Bell (F, Mass Lowell): two goals in 3-0 win over RPI.
