* Leo Wlasow, who is a senior academically but a junior eligibility-wise,
has informed Maine he will not return next year and forgoe his final year of
eligibility.

* Maine recruit Robert Ek, the Sweedish defenseman who returned to Sweeden
after he wasn't immediately cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse has finally
been cleared to play. Reportedly Ek will return to Maine, but it is not
clear whether that will be for the winter semester or next fall.

* With Greg Cronin resigning as head coach Monday, and Grant Standbrook and
Mario Thyer out on recruiting trips, junior defenseman Jeff Libby did the
honors on WZON's "Hockey Coaches Show" Tuesday evening. Unfortunately no
one called in.
