Based on the weekly Hockey East release, slightly rewritten.
 
HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MARK MOWERS, JR F, NEW HAMPSHIRE
Mowers (Whitesboro, NY) was the offensive cog for the streaking Wildcats,
who captured the Governor's Cup championship this past weekend in
Burlington, VT.  Mowers tallied five goals and two assists, earning him
tournament MVP honors.  He notched a pair of goals, including one
shorthanded, in UNH's 8-6 semifinal win over host Vermont, and he collected
a hat trick in his team's 7-2 championship win over Maine.  Mowers also
picked up an assist in each game.  He is tied for fifth in Hockey East
scoring with 5-7-12 in eight games and is third in the league overall with
10-11-21 in 13 games.
HONORABLE MENTION: Brian Callahan (F, Boston College): two goals and three
assists in 2-1-0 week; Gerry Cahill (F, Mass Amherst): three goals and two
assists in weekend sweep of Air Force; Ryan Sandholm (F, Mass Lowell): two
goals and two assists in 0-2-0 weekend.
 
HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BLAKE BELLEFEUILLE, F, BOSTON COLLEGE
Bellefeuille (Framingham, MA) registered a six-point effort over three
games this past week in helping the Eagles to go 2-1-0.  The first-year
standout scored a goal and an assist in each game.  He is tied for the lead
in scoring among all Hockey East rookies with 8-6-14 in 12 games.
HONORABLE MENTION: Cory Larose (F, Maine): two assists in 1-1-0 weekend;
Greg Koehler (F, Mass Lowell): goal and two assists in 0-2-0 weekend; Jayme
Filipowicz (D, New Hampshire): +8 in two Governor's Cup wins.
