So, I was scouring the AP wire tonight and came across the Duke-Tennessee
women's basketball story and read a quote from legendary coach Pat Summitt
that really hits home a little bit. Now, comparing Tennessee women's hoop
to Maine men's hockey is a stretch, I know, but the programs are similar
in some ways. I emphasize "some" here. They are both nationally known from
within their sport. They are winning programs rich with tradition. They've
raised a few banners over the years, etc etc

After getting blown out by Duke tonight, 75-53, in a No. 1 vs. No. 2
matchup, Summitt said the following, "Losing's one thing. Losing the way
we lost is something quite different. It's unacceptable in this program."

I like that. Tennessee got beat badly, but it came at the hands of one of
the best programs in the country. Still, that is 'unacceptable.'  It's
these comments that remind me of Shawn Walsh, because he would say these
things, publicly and privatly. While Walsh is gone, no one ever said that
mentality would have to leave with him.
