Maine fans will still get to see Szabo play. St. Cloud State is one of the
teams playing in the Ice Breaker Tournament at the Alfond next month.

Subject: Maine loses Szabo

Hello,

I may be late on this one, but it has been reported by USHR that Maine
recruit Peter Szabo will be playing for St. Cloud State this year and not
Maine as originally planned. According to USHR Szabo failed to score high
enough on a test (English as a Foreign language?) for admittance to Maine.
SCSU has a lower admittance standard on that test and Szabo has signed on
with them.

I'm sorry we lost out on this good player but I'm glad it happened before
the academic year for both his sake and the programs sake. I'm also glad
that we have certain standards that must be maintained for admittance.

On another note I share the enthusiam of other posters with regards to the
possibilty of Tim Whitehead joining the staff this year.

Looking forward to the start of another succesful campaign. Coach Walsh
remains in our
prayers.
