Dear Christopher:

Dirca palustris is found in scattered amounts on Hedgehog Mountain in
Freeport. The land is owned or managed by a trust and I do not know their
collecting policies. If Bill Graves is serious about collecting here, I can
obtain the pertinent info.

Subject: Dirca palustris localities

Dear JBS folks,
Bill Graves from the midwest is coming to New England to collect populations
of Dirca palustris. Janet Sullivan is showing him sites in NY, and he is
coming to the Bangor area on 14 June. He can collect from the plant we have
in the Fay Hyland
Botanical Garden (wild-collected by Fay Hyland), and I directed him to the
herbarium website, where we have 56 records of this species. I said I would
ask around for localities. If you know of a site where this species grows,
please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris
