Hi Rick -

Sorry I missed this note. Hope you got a crew. Did you make sure to remove
the plants from the site as opposed to pulling them up but leaving them by
the side of the road? On a recent trip to WV one of my colleagues pointed
out that garlic mustard will finish producng seeds even after it is pulled
up, which I had not thought of. But I'm not real up to speed on invasives
control, so this is probably not news to you.

Hope all's well -

Sue

Subject: Garlic mustard cleanup project

Yolande Gay and I are looking for a couple extra hands to assist us with an
invasive weed extraction project tomorrow (Sun, June 4) at 1pm. Sharon
Kinsman recently discovered a small area containing Garlic mustard along
Route 202 near the Lewiston/Greene line. The site is 2 miles north of
Marden's and the plant is spread out along both sides of the highway. If we
can get 3 or 4 volunteers, the project should only take 1 1/2 or 2 hours.

If you're available to assist, please call me at home sometime today or
tomorrow morning.

thanks,
Rick Speer
