The first period started out in favor of BGSU with it shifting back towards the U-18 team after a number of powerplays. The period ended 1-0 after the U-18 gave up a 2-0 and not much that the goalie could do about it.

Penalties continued in the second period and the game swung back to BGSU. The U-18 team gave up two goals on two awful defensive plays. Shots had been even at the end of the first but were now heavily in favor of BGSU. U-18 was able to turn some momentum back there way with a goal at the end of the period.

The third period was more wide open with shots being roughly equal and play maybe a little favoring BGSU. They pulled to within one at 4-3 with five minutes left in the game. The goalie was pulled at two minutes and an open goal was promptly scored. The goalie remained pulled and with thirty seconds left the U-18 went on the power play. They scored with ten seconds left in the game. Two face offs and ten exciting seconds later BGSU remained the winner at 5-4.

Attendance was 1184. The U-18 team plays Maine next on December 8. Ten dollars for a hockey ticket and a dollar beer...what could be better?

Thanks,

Doug Peterson
