The Department of Environmental Studies at the University of New England seeks applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Lecturer for the 2019-2020 academic year. The start date for the position is August 19, 2019.
The primary responsibilities of this position include instruction of courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including GIS I: Fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems, GIS II: Applications of Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, and Spatial Analysis. The position also teaches sections of Introduction to Environmental Studies and other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
A master’s or doctoral degree in environmental studies, geography, GIS or a related discipline is required by the time of appointment. Applicants must have substantive knowledge of GIS, global positioning systems (GPS), cartography, remote sensing, and spatial analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate teaching experience.
