The Maine Office of GIS and the Maine GeoLibrary announce the
availability of 3 new web mapping services for aerial orthophotos.
These and other web mapping services are available at:

http://www.maine.gov/geolib/wms.htm

The three new services include:

Baxter 2004 - QuickBird satellite imagery of Baxter State Park dated
October 3, 2004 (3:28PM local time - how's that for precise?). As these
data are licensed, we cannot release the original data to unlicensed
individuals. These are color data with a 60cm pixel resolution and
horizontal accuracy of 2.3m.

Debsconeags 2005 - QuickBird satellite imagery of the Debsconeags region
which abuts the southwest portion of Baxter State Park. As these data
are licensed, we cannot release the original data to unlicensed
individuals. The data were collected between July 13 and October 29,
2005. These are color data with a 60cm pixel resolution and horizontal
accuracy of 2.3m.

DeLorme 2003 - These are 1-foot color orthophotos taken June 6, 2003 by
DeLorme using their Leica ADS40 digital camera, with horizontal accuracy
of .6m. These data are also licensed, and we cannot release the
original data to unlicensed individuals.

Also we have made changes to the services for the 1:24,000 topo maps and
the black-and-white version of the same service. In those cases we were
notified of 4 mis-registered quads way down east (Machias Bay, Cutler,
Moose River, and Cross Island) in the service. We received corrected
quads and loaded them into the service. You will not have to do
anything to take advantage of this.

Coming up next: More low tide imagery and US border imagery (30-mile
buffer)

Happy mapping!
