Subject: Meeting Re: Banning Smoking on Mill Street

Dear Fellow Parents,

As some of you may have noticed, with the influx of new residents at
Hasbrouk Court on Mill Street, smoking on the Mill Street and Pine Street,
the two main roads leading in and out of the town and also to the schools
and to the Public Library, has increased dramatically.

Because smoking is banned in Hasbrouk Court, smokers can be found lining
the Mill and Pine Streets or standing on the sidewalk in groups, at various
times each day, in all seasons. Second hand smoke is, therefore, an issue,
for all the children as well as parents who walk the streets in and out of
town daily.

I have raised this issue with the town council and they have put it on the
agenda for this Monday October 26th at 5:30 in the Council Chambers.

All are welcome to come and voice their views. I will be present. Feel free
to contact me in advance of the meeting.
