Dover has just published _Chinese Poems_, a collection of what its catalog
calls "scores of poems from [Arthur] Waley's translations: _The Book of
Songs_ (1937), _170 Chinese Poems_ (1918), _More Translations_ (1919), and
_The Temple_ (1923)." The price is $7.95.
 
Americanists on the list may also be interested in another new Dover book,
a republication of the 121 engravings from W.H. Bartlett's _American
Scenery_ (1840). The advertisement in the current Dover New Books Catalog
depicts what may be Whitman's Brooklyn Ferry, and the ad copy promises
other pictures with literary associations. Dover's title is _Bartlett's
Classic Illustrations of America_, and the price is $12.95.
 
And for beginning readers and readers outside the United States: Dover is a
reputable publisher specializing in extremely inexpensive republications of
work in the public domain. It doesn't have a Web presence, though, and most
