To anyone on this list: This message came to me because apparently I am still
listed as the contact for the Ezra Pound Society. Did the Pound group meet at
the MLA convention in Philadelphia, to plan a program for next year? (I met
with the Williams group, but I heard nothing about a meeting of the Pound
group.)If so, can someone who knows what the group decided either a)respond
directly to ASmith, or b) fill me in on what you decided, so I can pass this
information on to MLA headquarters?

IKf I don't hear from anyone by 4:00 today, I can send a notice to ASmith,
listing an "open session," and listing myself as contact. But I won't do that
unless I hear at least some support for this idea.

And if the Pound group did NOT meet to plan next year's sessions, I wonder if we
can work up a plan, via this listserv? I invite suggestions from anyone
willing to chair a panel. We won't be able to get a listing in the MLA
Newsletter, but we can circulte the call by other means.

Burt Hatlen

 Subject: MLA Calls for Papers

Dear Colleague,

If you are receiving this email, it's because I still have you listed as
the contact for an allied or affiliate organization and have not received a
calls for papers listing from your group for the spring newsletter. The
deadline was yesterday. Please let me know immediately if there was an
oversight as I cannot take listings past 5:00 p.m. today.

Also, please know that listing a call is not required.

best and thank you,
