BOOK/SHOP is pleased to announce a bi-coastal musical event, this 
Friday, Sept 5th.

Join us for an evening of violin works from 1923-1933 by the American 
poet Ezra Pound. We'll have two violinists playing two different 
programs at both our Oakland and New York locations.

Experimental music specialist Ben Kreith 
<http://www.oldfirstconcerts.org/artists/685/>will be performing live at 
our Oakland shop during First Friday activities. There will be two 
rounds of performance from 7-9 PM. 487 D 49th St., Oakland, CA 94609. 
The program in Oakland will include:

Sestina: Altaforte (violin)
(please note that this performance of the "Sestina: Altaforte" is the US 
live premier of this work. it has been performed live only once before, 
in Rome, in 2010.)

performing at 8 PM. 2 Bond St., lower level, in Manhattan. The program

Pound's music ranges from simple & melodic to the experimental and 
challenging. We'll be reading the poems associated with the musical 
pieces as well. The event will be somewhat brief, and standing room
