This sin't good verse - and I wouldn't usually share - but it speaks to
where things are at for me - and I'd like you to see it and read it:

Comms not sound: the poet spies
his notes his confidences
rummaged in & tried:

unscrupulous ones in whose employ
he strives & strives
hack at former loves;

his unsuspecting Peers,
eminent, some, un-noticed are,
molested slyly (ha!)

lest they begrudge the, er, attention.
I speak not of the leprous
government, no: groomed HR

brethren only: corporation men
& the sisters of the corp. more expert
still in the dim arts of soul invasion.

How this will end the poet may
not know, nor talk about his gag
except perhaps in code:

He gains proficiency,
tentative, as an adolescent
with an enigmatic want.

When Serhiy Zhadan was beaten
in the street even the NYT noted:
'cuts on the head, eyebrow

dissected, concussion, broken
nose suspected.' His attackers
ordered him to kneel & kiss the flag:

he told them to go fuck themselves.
Thomas said we all are tref, a clan,
Serhiy - with you I am -

I kiss your flag, your red badge;
with you, Hashem Shaabani
dead: for conscience & for art.

False gods & profiteers: fear
the sacred, vulgar pant
of the poet you strive to contort:

your triumph is illusion: welladay!
You suspect it, even. Infamy
becomes a man in uniform.
