A birthplace home of a famous person has its historical and sometimes
an economic value--but come on! I have seen photos of the house--so am struck
by the pricetag--$255K? I don't know housing prices in Idaho, but I know about
real estate, generally, and wonder why this little house is so pricey? And who
is doing the selling (I did not receive the notice a few months ago)? It seems
as if future tourist profits are already factored into price, and price assumes
some sentimental group with large, indirect, and discretionary assets will buy.
That little house, I venture, could never turn its buyer a profit, or even
break even. So again, why the seemingly very high price, which seems to assume
that it will?

I know that Homer built the house (or had it built) and that it was the
