Dear Technology Integrators,

TechConnect is an opportunity for Technology Integrators across the state to informally gather and
connect for a day. For the third year, Tech Connect will be held at Colby College with support from
Colby's Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement and ACTEM.

Made possible by Tech Integrators attending regional meetings, TechConnect is a grassroots effort
designed to embrace a broader field of like-minded people to share with one another, learn from
each other, and most importantly, support one another.

The theme of this year's conference is, "Let's Collaborate!" It is our hope that participants will
leave with ideas and tools for helping their fellow teachers to collaborate with others around their
district, the state, the country, and the world. The core group of TechConnect planners will provide
opportunities for sharing/generating collaborative projects ideas, tools for collaboration, as well as
a session for connecting with other integrators.

Our day includes an afternoon session with Colby professor, Dr. Philip Nyhus professor of
Environmental Science. Dr. Nyhus will share his collaborative, interdisciplinary research that
bridges the natural and social sciences to address human interactions with the environment using
GIS-based spatial models. He is particularly interested in the policy dimensions of human-wildlife
conflict and endangered species conservation. His current research includes biodiversity risk
assessment, large landscape conservation, and tiger and large mammal conservation in the US and
Asia.

Other connections to the endeavors and practices of Colby Colleges technology integration and
collaboration are in the works.

There is no fee or charge to attend the conference. Lunch and snacks will be provided by the
Goldfarb Center. Contact Hours are available. Door prizes will be drawn at the end of the day
thanks to generous support from ACTEM.

Driving directions, building and room details, and parking information will be sent in an e-mail to
attendees when finalized.

Thank you for your interest in TechConnect 2013!
