On Tuesday May 17, from 9:00 AM until noon, please join the Early
Childhood Education Program at the University of Maine, the Maine
International Center for Digital Learning (MICDL), and Apple for the
Second iPad in Early Childhood Education (ECE) Roundtable. We will be
hosted by MICDL in their facilities at USM Lewiston Auburn College.

Following up on a successful first meeting, this session will continue and
expand on some of the topics exposed in the first gathering. It will be of
value to all who are interested in the role of iPads in Early Childhood
Education environments.

Brief Presentations:
Superintendent Tom Morrill will provide an overview of Auburn, Maine's
"Advantage 2014" project - the implementation of 1:1 iPads in Kindergarten
classrooms.
The Early Childhood Education Program at the University of Maine will
share a DRAFT version of their iPad App Rubric, designed to help raise
awareness of how to select quality apps to use with young children.
Hillary Brumer, RSU 21 Assistive Technology Specialist and self-aware
"appaholic" will share her process for locating and evaluating apps for
specific student needs.
There will also be time for an open conversation around the iPad and ECE.
Participants are encouraged to bring their questions and stories of iPad
integration into ECE settings.

Participants are invited to come early, as the room will be set and ready
to go by 8 AM - Want to get a jump on the iPad in ECE conversation?  Apple
representatives and others will be available prior to the 9 AM start for
informal conversations.

There will be some iPads available for participants to experience, and
participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own.

Coffee and pastries will be provided.

A wiki has been created to connect participants beyond the Roundtables
themselves, and all are encouraged to visit and join. Please do join the
conversation - [ http://maineeceipad.wikispaces.com/
