Thanx Alex. I been thru Redman, Heymann, & Carpenter
round and about Genova '45 looking for that blessed
quote but found nor hide nor hair. I don't think in a
week of decads i would have thot to read Cookson's
intro to SP. What he cites is not the phrasing I dully
remember, but it's close enough to satisfy a footnote.
At least i know now i didn't make it up.
