Not the best weekend for the BGSU Falcons. After losing 5-2 last night to the
BC Eagles, they were tripped tonight by the Huskies 4-1. NU broke on top at
6:45 of the first period on a goal by Soph Chris Lynch from Todd Barclay.
BGSU evened the score at 15:56 scored by Greg Day with an assist from Ryan
Murphy. NU went in front for good on a power play goal by Todd Barclay from
Willie Levesque and Jim Fahey at 19:39 of the first.
There was no scoring in the second period. Freshman Mike Ryan scored his
first two collegiate goals in the third for NU. The first was from co-Capt
Roger Holeczy at 5:25 and the second was an empty netter at 18:35 from Leon
Hayward.
Tom Lawson in the nest for BGSU had (18-6-11=) 35 saves. Mike Gilhooly for
the Huskies had (4-11-3=) 18 saves. BGSU was 0 for 4 and NU was 1 for 3 on
the power play. The Falcons had 8 penalties for 16 minutes, the Huskies were
9 for 18.
