Div I: U. Wisconsin Badgers 7, Northern Michigan U. 4
I saw the second and third periods of this game on delayed broadcast. At the
time I joined it, Wisconsin led 4-2. My impression was that NMU outplayed UW
in the second period but that Joseph was too hot in goal for them to even it
up. The final goal for UW was an empty net.
Div III:
Bring out the brooms!!! UWSP Pointers sweep NCHA rival UW-River Falls.
Friday: UWSP 6, UWRF 5
Saturday UWSP 8(?), UWRF 1(?)
Firday night was a close game with a lot of see-saw scoring. I listened to
the game on radio and the announcers, as usual, were lamenting the number of
penalties Point took. This seems to be a long-term pattern indicating a
certain lack of discipline on our part. I didn't hear the end of the game on
Saturday as a minor crisis (a meltdown in the oven) diverted my attention, but
it was 8-1 with only a few minutes to go. Next up: Bemidje State U. at home.
