Is a forfeit of the game to control unruly fans really the way to go?
Think of the players. They practice all week, get psyched up, and come to
a game only to find out their not going to get to play. Not only would all
that preparation go to waste, but they wouldn't have a release for all that
worked up energy. I think clearing the rink of fans is a much better idea.
If the fans are causing the trouble, punish them, not the players. The loss
of the chance to play would hurt Princeton almost as much as Dartmouth. After
such a long bus ride, they shouldn't lose the opportunity to better their
stats, gain experience, etc. Adding a game to the win column is only a small
part of hockey.
