In the consolation game of the Great Western Freezeout, Princeton
defeated Notre Dame, 6-3.
I found it interesting that the tourney format as described by the
announcers on WABU was that the BU-Maine game would have gone to a
shootout had the five min OT ended without anyone scoring.
BU continues to have trouble with the better teams in HE - only 1-2-1
against NU and Maine.
Maine simply refuses to lose. Several times during the game BU seemed
to have them on the ropes, but Maine clawed their way back, scoring 4
of the game's last 5 goals.
I cannot think of another team that has had this impressive a record
at this stage of the season (10-0-3) without having a single standout
player. Even Allison, though he has been playing well, owes much to
the play of his team in front of him when the game is on the line.
