Umass Lowell got two power play goals and a soft goal on a falcon
defensive lapse to get a 3-2 win over air force.

The falcons outshot lowell by a 2-1 margin, and carried the play for
most of the game. After a scoreless first period, Lowell went up 2 0
on two power play goals. The first was a nice screen shot from the
point, and the second was a tip by an unchecked forward. Andy Veneri
closed the gap on a quasi break putting the puck high on the short
side from the right circle. Lowell opened up the gap to two again as
a falcon defender tripped over his skates and screened the goalie.

Veneri got his second goal of the night high off the right post on a
power play to close the gap to 3-2 with about 5 minutes left.

The rest of the game was pretty much in the lowell end with airforce
just unable to convert on 5 or six occasions. It was the best
offensive effort I've seen in a long time, and the falcons proved they
can skate even with some league teams.

The same two teams go at it again tomorrow night.

Congratulations to CC coach Don lucia on upping his wcha record to
3-0. Maybe I ought to start voting in bill's poll.
