It is obvious that money and who you know determines many awards. I feel
one person deserves more credit this season in women's college hockey.

University of New Hampshire coach Karen Kay engineered her team's first
place finish in the ECAC League title race and went on to win the US
Nationals. How you play the game counts. UNH did extremely well in that
regard. They played their game and did not get sucked into the more
tedious/ugly side of hockey. New Hampshire also leads the way in the
number of scholarships currently offered and in how they acknowledge their
women's program. I think coach Kay deserves recognition for her team's
accomplishments.
