The Sioux wake up and stage a tremendous comeback in the final period
to beat the stunned Gophers 5-3 on Sunday afternoon.

How the tables had turned on the Sioux from yesterday's matchup! It
was the Gophers came out on FIRE today, taking it to our Sioux. in the
first 1/3 to 1/2 of the game. Everything about the Sioux play was
anemic through the entire 1st period. And unlike the Sioux yesterday,
the Gophers have buried all their chances. Berg puts away a rebound
for the first goal at 6:48 as Spehar and Pagel came down on a 2 on 1.
Only 58 seconds later, Wyatt Smith and Kraft feed Kohn for #2 at 7:46.
Goal #3 scored by Nate Miller at 8:58 from Miskovich.

Englestad was dead silent, as the Sioux made countless mistakes in the
     first.

Things evened up a bit in the scoreless second period. The period was
played more evenly...the Gophers slowing down, and the Sioux picking
     it up ever so slightly.

Then...the 1997 NCAA Final Flashback! The Sioux get a 5-goal period
and end up with the weekend sweep and a 4 point lead in the WCHA!

The Sioux finally woke up and came out flying in the third. After
several chances, Jay Panzer nicely fed Murphy for the first goal at
6:42. The fans woke up too...and a LIVE Gopher ended up running
around on the ice! After they scooped the poor thing up, the pressure
continued, and Jeff Panzer gets the second goal at 9:46. Englestad was
really rockin' then...and Blake gets a quick goal a minute later to
     tie it all up.

The Sioux completely blew the Gophers away through the whole period,
netting the go-ahead at 14:38 with a goal by Jay Panzer. Woog wanted
to get the early chance at his own equalizer, and tried to pull DeBus
with 2 minutes left. But, before he got too far, they coughed up the
puck and Henderson takes it in for the unassisted 5th goal at 18:05
before DeBus could get back. A bit more excitement to close the game
as the Sioux finished the contest short-handed. The 6-4 didn't offer
too many chances for the Gophers, and in fact Adam Calder barely
missed 2 empty nets clearing the zone.

AMAZING comeback! This is a prime example of why the National Title
is UND's to lose again this year!

     GO SIOUX...MAKE IT 2!!
