Local news in Lansing interviewed MSU coach Ron Mason,
and he said he be calling up a few players from the MSU
club team to play on Friday, again against WMU. MSU has
a third goalie on scholarship, Freshman Mike(??)
Gresl, but they want to redshirt him this year, so Mason
might use the Club team's goalie.

Club team?? Is that the new way to have a JV? BTW, how
many Div 1 teams currently have a JV? Personally, I know
Clarkson canned theirs a couple of years ago, while Harvard
(I think) still has one. Cripes when I was a freshman back in
'73-74 Clarkson had a Freshman, JV and Varsity team! I
guess Title IX and rising expenses canned the former
programs.
Good luck to the Spartans goalie on Friday. My Squirt son
had to fill in on a weekend while the PeeWee goalie was
nursing a broken hand. It was an experience, but he
finished 1-1 and was now knows what the next level will be
like.
