I've seen some interesting comments and statements made. One that reappears
is the idea of the Gophers getting the "best" players in Minnesota. What
does that mean? Who determines the best? As a former Bulldog from Canada,
all of that discussion is great, but its just that discussions. Is Wyatt
Smith better than Matt Cullen? Its the team that wins and the team that
loses. The Gophers get people the walk-on and play because its an
excellent institution. Now as a university professor that aspect of the
school's reputation has a more important roll. So its easier for Woog to
offer a one-quarter award and get them than for Dahl or Sertich.
Just a little rambling over lunch!
Bryan
