Fighting Illini Hockey 1995-96
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
 
     Since 1957, sold-out crowds have jammed the University of Illinois
Ice Arena for Fighting Illini hockey games.  Last season, record crowds
stuffed the 2,100-seat Arena and cheered the 20-16-1 Illini to the No. 6
national ranking.  In March, Head Coach Dr. Bob Turngren led his team to its
third-straight national tournament appearance.  Another exciting season
is on tap for Fighting Illini fans this winter!

- 20-16-1 overall record, No. 6 in the Nation (ACHA Division I).
- 14-6-1 in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League.
- third-straight national tournament appearance.

- standing-room-only crowds jammed the 2,100-seat Ice Arena for all 17

CENTRAL STATES COLLEGIATE HOCKEY LEAGUE
---------------------------------------
     The Fighting Illini are charter members of the Central States
Collegiate Hockey League.  The CSCHL includes nine teams from six
Midewestern States: Illinois, Iowa State, Minnesota, Marquette, Ohio,
Kent State, Michigan-Dearborn, Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Eastern
Michigan.  The CSCHL is arguably the nation's most competative ACHA
league: last year five of its teams earned bids to the national tournament.
     On a national level, CSCHL teams are affiliated with the American
Collegiate Hockey Assocition, Division I.
