the band at UM (university of Maine) is a very good band (when they play
at the games). I am a member of the blue line club for the hockey team and
we work very well with the band, we feed off of each other in doing some
cheers and songs. The band plays and we dance (at least some of the club)
during intermissions. The only problem that I have with the band is that
they do not play at all of the home games that are played when school is in
session. I have an example from the other day Feb.11,1995, the women's
basketball team played a game against Boston University and the band played
and played well but on Saturday night when the Hockey team faced off with
UMass amherst our band was not to be seen and a scab band from a local high
school played (they were a good band for a high school game but they just
cut it for a college game, I have nothing against them because they tried
hard). The band from UM should have been at the game but they did return
to action on Sunday night feb.12,95 and were rocking when we played Merrimack

just my .02 cents worth
