Back to Lacher-L for a moment (what happened to
Hockey-L?).

They didn't see him, period. Lacher was not draft eligible
(Entry or Supplemental) at LSSU. In 1991-92, he was a 21
year old freshman and, as was mentioned in a recent post,
was close to not being wanted back for his sophomore
season. He was 5-3-0 with a goals against in the mid-3s
as Darrin Madeley backup, including a pair of losses to
Ohio State late in the CCHA season. (Btw...I'd still take
Madeley over Lacher today, although I'd be happy with
either of them.)

By the time Lacher established himself as a professional
prospect (maybe 1992-93, but more likely 1993-94), it was
too late to draft him.

I don't know what he was doing as an 18-19 year old, but
his previous team is listed as the Melville Millionaires.
